PORTLAND OREGON: For one weekend only, Friday & Saturday, August 8th & 9th, All Jane No Dick brings the best funny women from around the country to the Back Door Theater in an estrogen laugh festival.
Friday night will feature All Jane No Dick with special guests Zabeth Russell (ImprovBoston & HamHocks) and Pam Man (Seattle goga). All Jane No Dick members Stacey Hallal and Deanna Moffitt have recently returned from LA where they participated in the second round of auditions for MADtv’s upcoming 9th season.
Saturday Night’s line-up expands to include:
Jill Bernard from Minneapolis performing “Drum Machine” a one woman improvisational theater experience - an inventive combination of improvised songs, scenes, and monologues set to the beat of the Zoom Rhythmtrak 123 Drum Machine.
Seattle goga (girl on girl action) an all-women comedy improv troupe, that explores the boundaries of spontaneous sketch using everything at their disposal: character work, song, poetry, spoken word, kittens (OK, maybe not kittens)—but nearly anything else.
HamHocks made up of Katie Carson of Washington DC and Zabeth Russell from Boston, MA. Their two-woman show premiered at ImprovBoston in 2000 and traveled to the Chicago FunnyWomen Fest in 2002. HamHocks takes its initial inspiration from an audience suggestion and then examines the input from a variety of perspectives.
And of course the hosts for the evening Portland’s own All Jane No Dick.
This is a must see event for Portlanders, never has their been so many talented, funny women improvisers on one stage in the Northwest!
