About Sybilization:
"Sybilization" presents talented Chicago improvisers in completely
spontaneous solo performances. Starting with an audience suggestion,
performers embark on the ultimate challenge - creating theatrical pieces
on the spot, and playing all the characters themselves. Each week's
performance will feature several actors presenting their own take on the
"Sybil," as well as guest performers. This round of performances also
includes performances by experienced solo performers who will
incorporate Sybil techniques into their shows - most notably
Minneapolis-based actress Jill Bernard, who will perform her piece,
"Drum Machine."
About the Instructor:
Andy Eninger created the solo improvisation format called the "Sybil" in
1998. Since then, he has appeared across the country, performing and
teaching the "Sybil." Eninger also teaches comedy writing and
improvisation for The Second City, is a company member of GayCo
Productions, and performs nationally for the Chicago Comedy Company,
which he founded in 1997. His critically acclaimed solo piece "One Man
Seen" appeared at the WNEP Theater in 2002, and has been seen at improv
festivals across the country and in London.
